All our sheep are marsh grazed either here on the farm or on other local grazing sites and occasionally on turnips in Autumn and Winter.
Lamb is available in season in Winter and Spring and hogget and mutton year round. Lamb is a sheep up to a year of age, Hogget is between a year and two years of age and Mutton is two years and older.
We believe age really adds to the quality of the flavour in the meat and also like to give our animals as much of a life as possible. Since we have been selling Mutton we have had some great feedback and many people cannot understand why it is not more popular and readily available. A slow roast shoulder of mutton is a truly unctuous meal.
